Galena Varsity Pirates lost to Winnebago 5-1 on Tuesday.
Winnebago jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after L Allen hit a solo home run to right field, Br Rankin doubled, scoring one run, and G Kelly singled, scoring two runs.
A Rundblade earned the win for Winnebago. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Jaycob Benson took the loss for Galena Varsity Pirates. The righty went three innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out four and walking one. Drew Koenigs started on the hill for Galena Varsity Pirates. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking two. G Kelly started the game for Winnebago. The right-handed pitcher allowed two hits and one run (zero earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none.
Owen Hefel, Mason Smith, and Drew Koenigs each collected one hit for Galena Varsity Pirates. Owen Hefel went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.

Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the third thanks to RBI walks by Neal, Keilbeck, and Bell.
Maddux Fouke earned the win for Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over three innings, striking out nine and walking two.
Dillon Belken took the loss for Galena Junior Varsity Pirates. The right-handed pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits, striking out five and walking six. Bell stepped on the mound first for Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out five and walking two.
John Sheets led the team with one run batted in. Owen Berning went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Galena Junior Varsity Pirates in hits.
Colton Hoffman and Maddux Fouke were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians. Connor Wishop went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians in hits. Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 14 walks for the game. Bell and Keilbeck led the team with three bases on balls each. Brayden Merryman stole two bases.
Winnebago Junior Varsity Indians didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kaeden Langholf had the most chances in the field with 13.
