The Girl’s volleyball team went to the Thunderdome to play West Carroll on September 12. Gracie Furlong ‘25 led the Pirates in kills with 7 on the night. Kendra Bauer ‘27 had 6 kills and Mya McCoy ‘26 had 4. Abigail Merrit ‘25 led the team in assists with a whopping 23 and Olivia Hillard ‘27 with 2 as well. Jayme Frank ‘26 went 13 for 13 on serving and had 4 aces alongside Mya McCoy who went 7 for 7 with 3 aces.
Frank ‘26 said, “It was a very quick game with many kills from the Galena side.” Bauer and McCoy both had 1 block. Furlong led the team with digs with 8 and McCoy also came in with 5 digs. The Girls Volleyball team ended up winning in 2 sets. The first set was 25-9 Galena and the second was 25-12 Galena.
The JV team did equally as well coming in with two wins of their own. Avery Werner ‘27 went 13 for 15 in serving and had 6 aces. Emma Ehiler led the team with assists with 17. Leah Vincent ‘28 led the freshman team with serves going 19 for 19 with 5 aces. The JV team won in two sets with the first going 25-12 Galena and the second going 25 for 15 Galena. The Freshmen team also won in two sets going 25 for 16 in the first and the second going 25 to 11.
