Galena Junior Varsity Pirates took down Byron Frosh Soph Tigers 26 8-4 on Saturday.
A single by Dillon Belken put Galena Junior Varsity Pirates on the board in the bottom of the first.
Byron Frosh Soph Tigers 26 captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the fourth after Carmago singled down the right field line, and Galena Junior Varsity Pirates committed an error, each scoring two runs.
Galena Junior Varsity Pirates flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 8-4. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in one.
Brycen Sincock earned the win for Galena Junior Varsity Pirates. The righty surrendered five hits and four runs (two earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two. Tobiason took the loss for the Byron Frosh Soph Tigers 26. The hurler went three and one-third innings, giving up six runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking none. Eli Schumacher pitched one and two-thirds innings of zero-run ball for the Galena Junior Varsity Pirates in relief. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit, striking out three and walking three.
